Marseille, an urban symphony
In a documentary by Marie Claire Margossian to be released on France 5 on May 1, 2026, André Manoukian travels to Marseille to capture the city’s sonic soul.
In this city shaped by migration and crossbreeding, sounds tell stories, express identities and release emotions. They collide, transform and become a living material that inspires musicians and gives Marseille its unique energy.
André gathers this raw material through encounters, from Massilia Sound System to IAM and the Fonky Family, from Soprano to JUL, via cellist Nesrine, Titoff, Robert Guédiguian and Kemmler, a figure on the emerging scene.
Mosimann transforms the voices, accents, laughter and music into a work of art, transforming chaos into harmony and creating the urban symphony of Marseille.
Christian Hugonnet, President of La Semaine du Son, is on hand as an expert to shed light on the sounds of the city.
