Following on from the Orchestras’ Weekend in 2026, the 24th UNESCO Week of Sound, to be held from January 18 to January 31, 2027 in Paris and throughout France, officially launches the “Orchestras’ Fortnight” from January 18 to 31, 2027.
This annual project is based on one of the pillars of our NGO’s charter: the promotion of musical expression and sound.
Indeed, all scientific research shows that musical practice is a factor in both personal and collective equilibrium, in listening to oneself and to others, and that it contributes to the development of cognitive performance at all ages.
As an advocacy NGO, we are also aware that instrumental play contributes to the fight against violence and promotes inclusion.
For the first time in France, in every region, we are inviting all orchestras to perform between January 18 and 31, 2027, or to hold rehearsals open to the public, in order to raise the profile of their work on a national level and invite as many people as possible to discover the pleasure of playing an instrument.
