The powers of sound symposium at the Philharmonie de Paris

On April 10 and 11, 2026, Semaine du Son takes part in the symposium: De l’onde à l’inouï : les pouvoirs du son, at the Philharmonie de Paris.

The Cité de la musique – Philharmonie de Paris and France Culture have joined forces for a symposium exploring the phenomenon of sound in all its dimensions. How is sound produced? Perceived, measured, modified? From its physical and acoustic characteristics to its study in the human and social sciences (sound studies), the aim here is to consider sound as a multi-disciplinary object, and to question its power to transform and transmit. The program includes round-table discussions, immersive audio listening sessions, a workshop with France Culture’s fiction sound engineers, and the public recording of a masterclass with sound designer Nicolas Becker.
