Didier

Lockwood

Sponsor of the 2nd edition

Didier Lockwood is a French violinist, working mainly in jazz and composing film music.

After classical training, he discovered amplified violin, and in the mid-1970s joined the jazz-rock group Magma rather than attempt to enter the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse.

He has released a series of albums with different groups, as well as collaborating with numerous artists. He is constantly exploring new horizons, and in addition to his film music compositions, he is also famous for his “seagull” solos, demonstrations of electronic effects for solo violin.

A great teacher, he founded an improvisation school in Seine-et-Marne, the Centre des musiques Didier Lockwood.
