Tous en harmonie, le Week-end des Orchestres, sponsored by André Manoukian, January 24 and 25, 2026.
The 23rd UNESCO Week of Sound, which runs from January 19 to February 1, 2026 in Paris and throughout France, officially launches this year’s “Weekend of Orchestras” on January 24 and 25, 2026.
Our project is based on one of the pillars of our NGO’s charter: the promotion of musical expression and sound.
Indeed, all scientific research shows that musical practice is a factor in both personal and collective equilibrium, in listening to oneself and to others, and that it contributes to the development of cognitive performance at all ages.
As a UNESCO-accredited advocacy NGO, we are also aware that instrumental play helps to combat violence and promote inclusion.
For the first time in France, in every region, we are inviting all orchestras to perform over the weekend of January 24-25, 2026, to showcase their work on a national level and invite as many people as possible to discover the pleasure of playing an instrument.
The concerts will be covered by “La Semaine du Son”, and media coverage will be provided by our partners such as France Télévisions.
If you’re a musician in an orchestra, amateur or professional, come and join this unique event to showcase your band.
This introduction will be read at the opening of each concert or rehearsal organized as part of the UNESCO Week of Sound 2026:
This concert – or orchestra rehearsal – is part of the first edition of the “Week-End des Orchestres”, sponsored by André Manoukian and Senator Catherine Morin-Desailly, on the initiative of the NGO La Semaine du Son, an official partner of UNESCO.
Now an annual national event, it aims to inspire you to take up music through your presence and listening skills.
This is one of the aims of La Semaine du Son, which aims to raise awareness of and encourage musical expression as a means of personal development, collective fulfillment and strengthening social ties.
This event is organized in collaboration with the Association Française des Orchestres (AFO), the La Renaissance wind band, the Confédération Musicale de France (CMF), the Association Française pour l’Essor des Ensembles à Vent (AFEEV), the Fédération Musicale de Paris (FMP) and the Maison des Pratiques Artistiques Amateurs (MPAA), and the Chambre Syndicale de la Facture Instrumentale Française (SCFI).
She also receives support from France Télévisions, Selmer, Yamaha, Buffet Crampon and Algam Piano Pleyel.
